Awards will be given on the basis of two different sets of criteria.
 

For cities, each Award will be based on the performance of the city in the Inclusive and Green City Index, (a tool built for every European and global city, for presenting, in a clear and easily understandable way how a city performs from an environmental, social, and health perspective). Through its data, the Index can help local authorities to identify actionable solutions to make their cities greener, healthier, and more inclusive. The Index was created within the framework of the EU-funded project DivAirCity.

It is a points-based system divided into two separate evaluations: the Index score is worth 70%, and the city’s own intervention and criteria values are worth 30%. Cities that don’t reach the 50% minimum in both parts, will not be eligible.

For companies, each Prize will be awarded by a dedicated international jury composed of city representatives, academia, and urban practitioners, based on the following criteria: demonstrated impacts on urban life; innovative potential; scalability and replicability; economic and environmental sustainability; collaboration with local authorities and communities.
